Welcome to the National Human Rights Consultation website
On 19 July 2010 the Government went into Caretaker mode with an election to be held on 21 August 2010. During this period, information on this website will be published in accordance with the Guidance on Caretaker Conventions circulated by the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
The National Human Rights Consultation provided an opportunity for you to share your views on human rights in Australia.
- NEW! The Government released Australia's Human Rights Framework on Wednesday 21 April 2010. Visit www.ag.gov.au/humanrightsframework for more information and to find a copy of the Framework.
- The Committee handed it's report to the Australian Government on 30 September 2009.
- Public Hearings were held in the Great Hall at Parliament House in Canberra from 1 to 3 July 2009. To find out more about what happened, visit the Public Hearings page.
